spAce suits you
10, 9, 8, 7…. Wait! No jet pack? No helmet? Join Art Hoppers in Hackney libraries to make wearable space suit accessories. Prepare for lift off with your intergalactic ID card, flip the visor on your helmet and ignite the jets, we’re heading for the stars.
We’re happy to be partnering with Hackney libraries to deliver our ‘spAce suits you‘ family art sessions in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing. 2019 marks 50 years since the first humans set foot on the Moon on 20th July, 1969 as part of NASA’s Apollo 11 lunar mission.
If your children love dressing up and role play, have a fascination for all things outer space or love making 3D objects, this is for you – Join us this summer!
Accessories will be made from craft and recycled materials. Expect drawing, cutting, glueing and taping. All hand-made items of your own making are yours to take away at the end of the session.
Materials will be provided. The event is FREE to attend. No need to book.
Families / Children aged 5 – 11 yrs. Older ones welcome – the making can be as simple or as complex as you’d like to make it.
<<< Drop-in any time between 2-3.30pm on either day.
Photos may be taken during the event – Please let library staff know if you prefer not to be photographed.
