Mural for Mandeville Sch

Painted Hoardings, 80m2

As scaffold went up at Mandeville Primary School during a long period of repair to the roof, the school contacted us to request a design for a mural intended to enliven the playground and distract from it’s buidling site appearance.

The design was based on a forest-theme, creating a backdrop for a new ‘fallen forest’ playground composed of tree logs.

Painted during the Easter holidays of 2023, the hoardings covered a surface area of 80 square meters. The design pulls on a simple colour palate of greens showcasing the variants with yellow and blue hues.

A painterly approach building up washes of colour created a free spirited finish showing gestural brushstrokes, splashes of colour and a textural quality.

On return from their Easter break, children and satff had the biggest surprise seeing both the mural and playground freshly installed. Thanks Mandeville for the thumbs up.
