SPRINGFIELD PARK CELEBRATION

CALICO PRINTING

Join us for mono-printing at Springfield Park’s fabulous new venue The Glass House.

Try your hand at mono-printing on calico (fabric) and contribute designs toward our community bunting. We’ll be making unique, one-off prints inspired by fresh cuttings from the grounds of our beautiful park. Use leaves as a stencil and textural mark maker or leave your mark in print with a personal interpretation drawn from historial design motifs as illustrated in A Treatise on Calico Printing dated 1792.

Each participant will print enough fabric for up to 4 flags – 2 for the project and 2 to take home. The park will keep the bunting as a legacy of this event for future celebrations and decorative displays!

WORKSHOPS

Each session includes a brief demo on the printing technique – Please arrive at the start of your session to enjoy this and take full advantage of the resources provided.

Inks used are water-based and child friendly. Be prepared to get a little messy. Families with young children are welcome, parents must supervise their own children.

We look forward to seeing you there!
