We’re proud to say Yrs 3&4 of Gayhurst Community School (all 150 of them) WON the FUTURE ARTIST (aged 5-12 category) of the #ArtskickersAwards2017 for their exhibition ‘El Surrealismo / Surrealism Olé’ at #TAG – The Art Gallery at Gayhurst School. They were awarded a prize of £500 worth of art materials from Great Art and a gorgeous lightening bolt gong to display in the school, presented by British artist Gavin Turk.

The Award ceremony, held at The Stage EC2 on 29th March 2017 was a very special evening and host to so many of East London’s creative talent. Our very own Claire WT was shortlisted for a TEACHER Artskicker Award alongside these four, smart nominees for the same category:

#TAG – The Art Gallery at Gayhurst School
#TAG is a gallery quality art space within the grounds of Gayhurst Community School designed specifically as a showcase venue for the exhibition of pupils’ artworks. The current exhibition is inspired by the children’s geography topic ‘Different Places, Similar Lives: Spain’. The children enjoyed a school trip to Tate Modern to see the ‘International Surrealism‘ exhibition as part of their art studies.
